They don't take me seriously. My sister and sister-in-law. I told them I was going to hand them paper, scissors and glue and that they would have to work for Thanksgiving dinner. If they are going to come visit for a week and expect me to drop everything because they are on holiday, I must insist that they do something for me. Afterall, it's not MY holiday.
I still have to work. I still have to be ready and set up for the Holiday Faire at Monticello the day after they leave. That means I have three weeks. Three weeks to get all my projects done, get all the guestrooms ready and have all the holiday decorating done. Whoa, Nellie! Only three weeks? Yikes!!
You're on notice, in writing right here, Michelle and Kimberly! If my projects aren't done, it's paper, scissors and glue for you!! Ha!! Oh, and another thing, I'm not the group leader on this trip. DO NOT ask me, "What do you have planned for us today?" If I hear this, you will get the stink eye and be made to sit in the corner with your nose pressed against the wall.
Little rant over. I'm off to the studio to sew up some bears!!
Warmest bear hugs on a delightful Monday morning! :o) Aleta

Well, I guess you told them. ;)
Take a deep breath and enjoy your day.

A little testy after Halloween are we?!!
If I lived closer, I would be happy to cut and paste for you!
Have fun creating, Aleta!
Hugs, Nancy
Oh Aleta,
I feel for you! Having company when you are sooooo busy, is hard to handle. Lets hope they read your blog, or better yet, send them the iink!
I must be getting really old - I am beginning to hate company,
hugs,
Brenda
HAHAHA! I know that big bad mom voice when I hear it. I'm just glad it's not me getting it. :) I would be happy to have paper, scissors, and glue. Hand it over. It will give me something to do while waiting for the food instead of watching football.
Love, Britt
Hello Aleta - I love the comments, but for those who have read your comments in the past they know I ALWAYS WORK when I come to see you and my brother. Did I not help with the last BEAR issue! I enjoy helping, but this time I'm bringing my love with me, and he will help too - he might not know it yet, but he will help! We look forward to being with you guys at Thanksgiving, and again, thank you so much for having us and my soon to be in-laws too. And more than anything always remember - WE LOVE YOU! Scissors, paper, glue, paint, mowers, nails...no matter what I love being there to help you guys.
Hugs and Kisses from Boston - Kimberly
Hey Aleta, I am in a bit of a panic myself . . . my "part-time" work for a local Auctioneer has become very full time ~ she has an Auction on November 9th and I have a Vintage Clothing Show on the same day (different location). Trying to prepare for both is really hard.
I had fun playing with kittens today though! Stop by for a minute to look at their cute little faces. They will make you smile :) Karen
Aleta, I can't think of anything more fun than coming to your house and I'd gladly accept your "chores" of paper, scissors and glue and I bet you'd have lots of glitter and buttons and ribbon and other neat stuff, too.
Your blog is always such a joy to read.
HeeHee. Aleta, I'm so happy to read your "mean" voice after knowing you to be a person of such calm and grace for all these years. I'm so relieved that even the impeccably in control have tiny cracks like the rest of us, and I knew you had it in you to show us the feisty! I like you better than ever, now. :)~
Please take care of YOU, sweet friend, with whom I check in too infrequently. The physical you; the mental and emotional you. The you that gets stressed, like everyone else does... and that's REALLY okay.
I'd make ornaments and drink tea with you, so full of cheer and delight, if geography made it possible.
With you in spirit,
Shel
