Rolling up our sleeves and getting to work!

Oh my, my!! We have a great deal of work ahead of us on this home!! I had to take my rose colored glasses off yesterday and realize that this home, with the carriage house/gymnasium, and the barn will probably take many years and a boat load of money to realize it's full potential....and not a small boat either! ha!

For now though, starting the extensive work will have to wait until we sell our home in Portland. So, the first order of business is to clean every inch and get a fresh coat of paint on all the floors! Yesterday I painted the diningroom (pictured) and part of the livingroom floors. Now I have to wait for the paint to cure before I tackle washing the windows. A smart person would have washed the windows first. I wasn't very smart yesterday. Oh well!! ;o)

Warmest bear hugs, Aleta

P.S. More Flourishes sneak peeks coming on Friday!!

It just took me 3 days to clean my bedroom so...good luck with all that. It does feel really good when all is fresh and clean, though.

I'll be back on Friday...or Wednesday in hopes of some pinkness.

Just take it one step (or project) at a time. It will be worth it and wonderful! Just take time out to re-energize (i.e. estate sale shopping) then come back to it. Can't wait to see it! M.

Aleta, not all dreams and accomplished suddenly. Yours will continue to be a work in progress. Even when you think you have it done you will find something wonderful to add. Keep up the good work and be sure to let us see what you're doing. We can't wait to see the transformation. ~Adrienne~

Such a beautiful room Aleta! I love your glass walls - imagine sitting there quietly, gazing out at the trees beyond ... *sighs wistfully*

And would you want it any other way, Aleta? If it were practically perfect in every way then you wouldn't get to put YOUR touch to it...okay so the boat load of money thing puts a wee damper on all the fun but...as my dad likes to say sometimes...it's only paper and you can't take it with you so enjoy it now. HA!! I so love my dad.

Enjoy your newest pallette to create on/with.

Hugs,
Shantell

It will be so heavenly that you will often pinch yourself.

I do have the perfect, professional window washing pole and bucket that you may borrow. We have very high windows here too, so I needed this item. Let me know, email me, and we're in biz!

Christine
