Let's move furniture!!

After yet another snow hiccup on Saturday, Bill and I were finally able to get some work done in the gym. When we moved everything up there, we just stacked it to one side of the room. Yesterday we started spreading it around to see what we had. I can tell you this.....I have a lot of work ahead of me!! Oiy!

First order of business was to set about getting the counter area put together. I already had in mind what I wanted to do so it went pretty quickly. The ceiling tins would go above a lovely old pale pink cabinet and between the 9 1/2 ft. windows. Fabulous!! Now to get Bill to hang the chandeliers on either side! Let's see....where did I put those? Hmmmm.

Next I tried out the lights I bought from Target. LOVE em! Need two more sets of the glass and one more set of the rice paper balls. Add it to the list! I have found for each thing I cross off the list at least two more things are added!

We spent several hours moving things around and around....and around. I'm telling you, Bill has the patience of a saint! And while we're on the subject of Bill; seven knob racks are finished and one birdhouse is done. The knob racks range in size from 2 ft. to 4 ft. long and each is one of a kind. One of a kind is also what each birdhouse he constructs will be. They are made from repurposed wood pieces, old picture frame parts and bits of this and that. The big one pictured is around 3 ft. tall. It's a biggie!! Decorative use only though.

Oh, and this is so very important! I've asked two more fabulous artists to join in the fun at Flourishes. Karen Otto, A'Musements and Jan Chandler, Sassy Cat. Karen will be bringing me delightful paper journals, fanciful little paper shoes and other lovely treasures to behold. Jan will be furnishing the creature comforts.....the most scrumptious, one of a kind, chenille pillows and throw blankets! Soooo vintage cottage and absolutely yummy!!

Are you getting excited for the opening?!!! Me too!!!!

Warmest bear hugs, Aleta

P.S. Yes, I know. I didn't post a picture of the counter all put together. I will once the lights are up! Silly me just re-read everything and realized I forgot to post a picture of the lights. Blonde. It's going to be a "blonde" day today. Ha!

Hi Aleta,

So glad you "get me" ha ha. Your shop sure is coming along nicely. What fun you must be having. I know it is a lot of work what you're doing, but I'm sure it is the fun kind of work.

Wow, I think we all need to send Bill a care package for his patience! You two are doing a great job. It looks lovely! Geez, I wish I lived closer so I could see it in person. Like I said Aleta, with your touch, it will be like a visit to Wonderland! Simply gorgeous!!!

I'm so happy and excited to see someone else will have seasonal shows in this location. I attended the last one, and was so very sad to hear it wasn't going to continue.

Could you please pass on the address of Willows Nest once you get closer to your Spring show - or provide a link with directions etc. on your blog for those of us who will need them to attend.

I want to be sure I never miss another event and I'm ashamed ot admit that I'm directionally "challenged" to say the least!
