STOP snowing already!!

First, we had nine inches of snow.
Then we had an ice storm that dropped a half an inch of a lovely ice coating over everything.

This is what I woke up to this morning. UGH!! Stop snowing already!! Now, at 9:40 it has dropped another three inches and it's still coming down. You can no longer see the brick line around the pool or see the rock retaining wall. Everything is being enveloped by snow.
Okay, who was it that put snow on their Christmas list?!!
Been stranded for nine days. NINE DAYS!! We tried to get out once only to be crashed into by a Hummer a mile from our house. A Hummer!! And I don't mean a hummingbird!! I thank God we were in Bill's big box truck. Significant damage to both vehicles....especially the Hummer!....but everyone is okay and that's the important thing. :o)
The sad thing is, we won't have our children with us for Christmas because, even living in the lower elevations, they can't get around in the snow either. They have even more that we do! At the rate it's snowing, we might not even see them until New Years!! Oh, how I detest snow!! It's not supposed to snow this much in Portland. Usually when we do get snow, it's just a day or two of misery and then it all melts away. I'm staring squarely at being stranded two weeks before it warms up enough to melt!!
The bright side in all this? I'm getting bears made!! :o)
Warmest bear hugs, Aleta

Hi Aleta -
I'm with you - enough is enough! Or, maybe enough is too much! About four hours ago the weatherman on one of the Portland channels said it would stop in about an hour. Radar photos supposedly proved that to be true; however, here we are this afternoon and it's STILL snowing. That was an hour from when?

I'll be sharing snow photos on my blog a bit later this afternoon. We're down on flat land but I can't possibly walk around outside unless my sweetheart nearly breaks his back shoveling snow to and from the sidewalk. In the meantime I'm trying to get some things done that wouldn't ordinarily be done. And I'm goofing off a bit, too, but don't tell anyone I said that.

Oh Aleta, I feel your pain. I did get to go out yesterday and do a little shopping but I think this is enough. I did see a glimps of the sun this evening, right before it turned dark. So sorry to hear about your truck, that's never fun.

Aleta, I agree with you...enough is enough. I can't believe it snowed all day on top of what we already had. This is crazy weather here in Portland. Bummer about the Hummer accident - glad you guys were okay. At least you are in bear production!
happy holidays

Hi Aleta,
Wow, it looks like you have as much snow as we do, but at least we have the equipment to deal with it. They actually pre-salt our main highways, so when it snows, it melts right away and everyone has snowblowers. We just bought one for our daughter, so she can get out quickly, now that she is on her own.
I'm sorry the weather is going to prevent your kids from being with your for Christmas - that's awful. Glad no one was hurt in your accident - vehicles can always be fixed. Take care and maybe the sun will come out and help. Have a wonderful Christmas!

hugs,

Brenda

Oh dear...I don't have near the snow you have and certainly have not been stranded in my little crook of the valley but it's been snowing all morning and according to Mr. Weatherman (Channel 8...NBC) it's not suppose to be snowing today. HA!!!

Big Warming Hugs,
Shantell

There was me thinking how pretty it is, forgeting that people need to get out and see loved ones. Well here in the UK its very mild, so I will wish you some of our weather to make its way to you.

I'm pleased you are seeing the silver linning.

Festive hugs, Sarah x
