The Rest of the Story!!

On March 17th, 2007 I began my blog with an entry about Willow Nest, a most magical seasonal event marketplace just across the river into Washington. For some inexplicable reason I was compelled to attend each event. I thought it was all about the shopping experience. As it turns out though, it was much more than that. It was my destiny.

This is my dreamhouse. A 1900's schoolhouse resting on two acres. This is the picture that I drew when I was seven years old. And yes, there is a swing. There is also a barn, the original gymnasium (think 1900's) and what I call a carriage house.

On March 15, 2008, almost a year to the day from my first blog post, and with the blessing of Linda and Ludmil Marcov of Willow Nest, Bill and I will host our first seasonal event as Flourishes. I cannot tell you how excited, nervous, overwhelmed and giddy I am all at the same time!

There will be six events this year including two outdoor flea markets. These are one day, Saturday only, events. A calendar will be posted soon!

What about the bears? Not to worry. The beauty of an event schedule, rather than a brick and morter store, is that it still allows me time to design bears.

I do hope you'll join me on this most marvelous adventure......

Warmest bear hugs, Aleta

Hey there. I may be way out of line, as I have never blogged before, but I was googling "Italian Tole Chandelier" and saw that you were looking for that perfect piece for your daughters room. Are you still looking? I have one that have blue and pink poppies. It's very cute. I was going to drop it off at my girlfriends booth, but thought I'd see if you had any interest.

Of course, having been to many of Linda and Ludmil's events there at Mt. Pleasant, I know you have chosen a dream setting overlooking the majestic, Columbia River Gorge, and as that incredible place has already been featured in magazines, I expect it will be yet again, for you, like Linda, have that special spark. Thank you for inviting me to be one of your artists!

I can't tell you how thrilled I am to hear your news. I just got an email from Linda and Ludmil and that's where I read that YOU are the new owner! My old computer went bye-bye and I've lost track of some of my favorite blogs, including yours. So, when I heard through Linda that you are going to keep the Willow Nest legacy going I hopped right over here to read your news and to say congratulations. I can't imagine how ecstatic you must be. I wish you the best between now and your first event and I hope to be there.

You're back in my favorites list again so I will be back often.
