Pink Wednesday and a child's vision.

This past summer my mom brought me a bunch of artwork that I created when I was a little girl. I didn't take the time to look at it and just put it on a shelf in the closet. Zoom forward to a few days ago....I'm busily going through cupboards and shelves editing our home for market. I came across the artwork and sat down to look at it. Such funny little drawings they are!!

Imagine my complete surprise when I came across this drawing. Do we, as young children, know our life path? My intuition has always been keen but this picture really floored me. Why? It's a picture of a house, sure enough. Look at what's on top of the house. It's a school bell!!!! I drew this picture when I was only seven years old. This is a picture of my dreamhouse!!! It's the dreamhouse I've been hinting at. The one my husband and I signed papers on on Christmas eve!!!

My dreamhouse is a three story converted schoolhouse built in 1900!!! It's not pink though, it's white. (Pink is my favorite color!) However, the trim is red just like in my drawing. It also has five fireplaces so there will definitely be a chimney with wood smoke. Just to the right of the house stands a very tall birdhouse. One thing you may not be able to see in the picture is what's inside the windows. It's the letter "B"......Breese is my married name. Goosebumps anyone? The only thing I'm not sure of is the swing. Of course, my imagination running away with me would say there is one. I'll let you know though.....

Warmest Pink Wednesday bear hugs, Aleta

I think every bit of our experiences from birth onwards, are carefully stored away ... nothing ever is truly lost, even the bits that slip to the bottom of the memory pile.

Whilst searching for our new house I realised completely out of the blue that with no conscious thought processes whatsoever, I was actually hunting for the same shape, position and colour of house I last felt happy and secure in as a child ... not quite as goosebump inducing as your picture prediction I know, but even so, food for thought!

Even when we think we know ourselves as adults, we still manage to surprise ourselves don't we?! How wonderful to realise your dream Aleta ... what a tingle that must bring!!!! I wish you and your husband every happinness in your new home.

Oh Aleta, I am so very pleased for you that you'll be getting your dream house!!! I have heard this exact same thing just recently...Someone made a sketch of his dreamhouse many years ago, then when he had moved to a new home, he unpacked the boxes and saw the sketch that he had made so many years ago and saw it was the exact house that he had just moved into...Isn't that just wonderful? It means that our dreams are not just dreams, but goals and it really gives life this magical feel, that I like so much. This must have been the house that was meant for you all along and I am so happy you will be able to move into that exact house! Hugs, Ellen

Aleta congratulations!
A week before Christmas 3 years ago we looked at our current home but someone had already put in an offer. And then on Christmas Eve the agent called us to say that the other vendor had withdrawn and were we still interest! 15 years ago we use to go for sunday drives and often ended up in our street and dream about living here. Good luck with selling your current home.
cheers Lisa

Big Giant Goose Bumps here Aleta! I'm with Paula on this one... the mind stores every image and experience we ever have... that's why some thing just "feel" right and we don't know quite why. Ordinarily one might not have a concrete memory of that particular experience or image... how lucky you are that Mom saved that particular picture! Then again, maybe it's not luck per se... maybe it's magic! Happy New Year!

How wonderful that you 'found' the drawing again:0) It certainly gave me goose bumps. Fancy it even having a bell on the top? Good luck in your new home, and let us know if you find a swing anywhere there........
