My sister. My mom. A diagnosis.

Me. My sister, Michelle. My mom, Judy. We went to the auction....and bought stuff!! Now that was fun! The not so fun part of the day was mom's doctor visit. (sigh) The doctor confirmed that mom has Sensory Polyneuropathy. What they don't know, and are still testing for, is the cause. More bloodwork and a possible spinal tap. Doesn't that last one sound like fun? Insert squishy face here. All I know is that my mom isn't the same person she was before all of this and it makes me really very sad. :o(

On a brighter note.....and I'm going for all the brighter notes I can!!....we went to Joe and Jermonne's Barn House event on Saturday morning. Yay!! As always, fabulous eye candy at every turn!!! I bought a couple of wonderful monogrammed linens to make into pillow slips. Since it will be a long holiday weekend, I should be able to sew a few of them up to take in to Monticello. First things first though....I simply must get some bears done!

And last, a picture of my space in Monticello as it looked yesterday. French table gone....a wonderful old two piece cupboard and primitive farm table in it's place. Next weekend I'll start switching out seashells for autumn accents. I'm kinda ready for that, aren't you?
Have yourself a fabulous Monday!! I'm off to the studio to work on bears.....

Warmest bear hugs, Aleta

Hi Aleta -
I love visiting your blog and seeing what you're up to. I'm so sorry your mother's diagnosis wasn't the best. I'll continue to pray for her and for you. Thanks for sharing with us so we know how to hold you both up. I love your space at Monticello. It looks like I need to visit there again soon.

Hi Aleta,
I'm so sorry to hear about your mum's diagnosis - fingers crossed that they will be able to discover the cause quickly.
Your Monticello booth looks fabulous, as always. So many beautiful things! Can't wait to see some new bears, though!

hugs,

Brenda

Hi Aleta...back from a holiday and ready to start communicating again!
I completely understand your feelings about your Mom...my Mom has had alhziemer's for ten years now...and the emptiness of not having the talks we used to have can be unbearable at times...all I can tell you is to spend as much quality time as you can with each other...you won't regret a minute of it!

On a happier note...your space looks wonderful Aleta! I agree...I'm thinking fall now...one of my two favorite seasons (the other is winter)...not for the cold, but rather the beauty.

Better run and get a little organized after 2 weeks of R&R.

Hugs,
Nancy

Oh, my heart goes out to you. This is such a hard time in our lives as well as our parents.
We're going through some medical things with my parents right now, and it's not fun, not one bit!!!
Hugs!

Hi Aleta, so sorry to hear about your mom. A clear diagnosis is better than not knowing, I hope. It can certainly point you in the right direction, for treatment. xoxox

Your booth looks absolutely lovely!
