Before and Almost!

I thought I'd share one of the interior design projects I've been working on. The top picture is the "Before" and the bottom picture is the "Almost". Almost because I still haven't found fabric I like for drapes around the window or fabric for the seat cushion. That window has me in a bit of a quandry as to how exactly I'm going to hang the drapes anyway. So, I sit and rattle it around my brain while working on bears!!

Goodbye, brass bed and Ralph Lauren roses! Hello, spa blue/green swirly jacquard, creamy white and bold black! It's the canopy bed I've always wanted....all grown up!!

I decided not to go with the airy drape over the canopy. I rather like the bold lines and the room is large enough to handle it. There's a lesson here too: Make sure you really want that 21 yards of bridal organdy before you purchase it!! Oops.

Warmest bear hugs, Aleta

Hi Shantell and Veronica!! :o)
Yes, Max does love the bed. He likes to help make the bed by running around pouncing the sheets and pillows. You'd think he was a kitten! Gracie is not as fond of the bed....only because she can't jump the 36 inches it takes to get on top of it. Even I almost need a ladder to hike my fanny into bed at night!

Vee, thankfully the colors are more spa blue than green and bold black. Otherwise, you're right, I'd be craving mint chocolate chip ice cream every night!!

Warmest bear hugs, Aleta

You've gone from Ralph Lauren/Shabby Chic/Laura Ashley, to Pottery Barn/Z Gallerie/Restoration Hardware. To put a commercial spin on it, that is. :) Love the new look. Loved the old look, frankly, but the new one pops. And I AM craving mint ice cream now. :)

I love the bed! It is an ALL GROWN UP bed, looks wonderful, and the colors are great. You are right, it's a "spa" look. Like being in a fancy hotel. I know you will enjoy this room for years to come.
